LCDs of Apple new iPads will be made by Sharp in Japan
Apple may be planning to change the manufacture of future editions of the new iPad and the new iPhone to Japan and, according to Reuters, the first step may be a $1 billion investment in Sharp LCDs.
Sharp may already be working with Apple for sometime, with the objective to provide power efficient screens for the sixth generation iPhone.

The japanese company has publicly said earlier this year that it is planning to switching production from larger displays to predominantly smaller screens for smartphones and tablets.
For many observers that means two things: the same that saying it wants to produce the screens for the new editions of iPad and iPhone, and that Sharp is making a big move – an Apple investment will definitly add a great value to the company.
